An excellent, thought-provoking article on the ways we refer to churches in various areas. Here’s a quote:

Firstly, by drawing a hard and fast line between the church in the west/north/whatever and the rest of the world we undermine the catholicity of the faith. The church is one and whether you come from London, Lima or Lomé, you are as much a part of the church as your brothers and sisters from other places.
